Daniela Kruel DiGiacomo

Daniela Kruel DiGiacomo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Science at the University of Kentucky, and was formerly a postdoctoral scholar with CERG. Her program of research focuses on how to design formal and informal learning settings in ways that support and extend young people’s lived experiences, interests, and expertise. As a learning scientist trained in the sociocultural tradition, her scholarship is guided by a commitment to research that is community-based and youth-centered. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Daniela worked in secondary teaching, school administration, political asylum advocacy, and social work in the Bay Area. She holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies from UC Berkeley and a Master's in Development Studies from Cambridge University.
